Entry clearance is the procedure used by Entry Clearance Officers (ECOs) at British missions overseas to check, before a person arrives in the UK, if that person qualifies under the Immigration Rules for entry to the UK. The application process is made entirely online, including application submission, payment, uploading documents and making appointment for biometric enrolment.

Family, Spouse & Marriage Visa

Asylum
If you want to stay in the UK as a refugee, you must apply for asylum. To be eligible to apply for asylum, you must leave your country and be unable to return as you fear for persecution. An application for asylum needs to be made when a person is entered in the UK or as soon as they think that it is unsafe for them to return to their country. Taking long time may result in refusal of application. There are various steps of an asylum application, including screening, interview, reporting meetings, etc. This is a rigorous process and require strong evidential supports based on current and previous circumstances. Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
You can apply for ILR if you are eligible to settle in the UK based on your circumstances and residence. This is also called as settlement and you can live, work, study in the UK without any limitation and apply for benefits. ILR also makes you eligible to apply for citizenship. British Citizenship
Based on your circumstances, there are different ways to apply for British Citizenship or naturalisation. If you have indefinite leave to remain or settled or pre-status status under the EU settlement scheme, then you can apply for British Citizenship. If you are born in the UK, your do not automatically get British Citizenship as it depends on when you were born and your parents’ status. Appeals

Administrative Review
If there is no right to appeal, you may submit an administrative review. A decision of the UKVI can be challenged by submitting detailed grounds and supporting evidence in administrative review. In most cases, an administrative review is conducted by a difference caseworker than the original one who decided on the refusal. An administrative review should be made within 14 days if you are within UK and within 28 days if you are outside of the UK. UKVI will notify the result of their review in writing within 28 days. Student visa
Tier – 4: If you are 16 or over, you can apply for a student visa to study in the UK provided that you have been offered a place on a course by a licensed student sponsor, have enough money to support yourself, pay for your course, can read, speak and understand English and have consent from your parents if your are 16 and 17 years old. You may be eligible to apply as a child student visa if you are 16 and 17 and want to study at an independent school in the UK. If you are outside the UK, you need to apply at least 6 months before your course starts. On the other hand, if you are already inside the UK, you need to apply at least 3 months before your course starts. The length of your visa depends on the length of your course. Graduate Visa
After successful completion of a course you are allowed to stay in the UK for at least for 2 years under Graduate Visa. With a Graduate Visa you can work most jobs, look for work, be self – employed. You can apply for a Graduate Visa if you are already in the UK, your current visa is a student visa or Tier-4 (General) student visa, your studies a UK bachelor’s, postgraduate or other eligible course and your education provider has told the Home Office that you have successfully completed your course.
