Sponsor License:

UK employers must have a valid sponsor license from Home Office if they want to recruit skilled workers from non-UK nationals including EU nationals who entered in the UK after 01.01.2021.  To employ skilled workers from non-UK nationals, a Tier 2 sponsor license is  necessary. A Tier 5 license is necessary if the employers wish to recruit non-UK nationals for temporary works including creative and sports, charity, religious and exchange programmes.  Employers need to meet certain eligibility requirements to apply for a sponsor license including registered in the UK, genuineness, appropriate HR system, etc. including submitting supporting evidence. 

If you intend to recruit someone from outside of the UK, you will need a sponsor license. Initially, such license is granted for 4 years, which can be renewed for another 4 years before expiry. Innovator Visa

You can apply for an Innovator visa if you want to set up and run an innovative business in the UK, which is new – you cannot join a business that is already trading; innovative – you must have an original business idea which is different from anything else on the market and viable, with potential for growth. Your business or business idea has been endorsed by an approved endorsing body. When you apply you need to provide an ‘endorsement letter’ to show that an endorsing body has assessed your business  or business idea. After 3 years of residency as innovator you can apply for indefinite leave to remain provided that you can get endorsed from the approved body that you have grown  your business (5-year residency for partner & children). UK Extension Worker Visa

A UK Expansion Worker visa allows you to come to the UK to set up a branch of an overseas business that has not started trading in the UK yet. You must already work for the overseas business as either a senior manager or specialist employee. To be eligible for a UK Expansion Worker visa you need to have a valid certificate of sponsorship from your employer, have worked for your employer outside the UK, do a job that’s on the list of eligible occupations, be paid the minimum eligible salary required for your job. You must have worked for your employer outside of the UK for at least 12 months unless you’re either earning over £73,900 or a Japanese national doing work for a Japanese company that is expanding to the UK. Global talent Visa

You can apply for a Global Talent visa to work in the UK if you are at least 18 years old and a leader or potential leader either at academia research, arts and culture or at digital technology. You need to have an endorsement to prove that you are a leader or potential leader or you have won an eligible award. You can live and work in the UK under this visa for upto 5 years at a time and able to apply for indefinite leave to remain to settle in the UK. Startup visa

You can apply for a Start-up visa if you want to set up an innovative business in the UK and it must be different from anything else on the market. Before you apply you must have an endorsement body who will assess your business idea and provide you with an endorsement letter. The endorsement body must be either a UK higher education institution or a business organisation with a history of supporting UK entrepreneurs. You must be able to show that your business idea is a new idea-you cannot join a business that is already trading; innovative- you must have an original business idea which is different from anything else on the market and viable- it has potential for growth. You must also be at least 18 years old, prove that you can read, write and understand English to level B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale, be able to prove that you have enough personal savings to support yourself while you are in the UK. You need to have had at least £1,270 in your bank account for 28 consecutive days before you apply, or you are in the UK for less than a year and apply to switch to this visa.  With Start-up visa, you can stay for 2 years. You cannot apply to extend this visa, but if you want to stay longer in the UK, you may be able to switch to innovator visa if you set up a business while on s Start-up visa and -your endorsement body assessed and agreed it, – it is active, trading and sustainable, – you have day to day involvement in it. Your visa may be cut short if your endorsement is withdrawn  by the endorsing body. If you want to stay longer, you must re-apply with a new endorsement before your current visa expires. Extension of Sole Representative visa
